Ashtanga Yoga Madison
A long time resident of Madison, software developer and inline marathon enthusiast I know first hand of the obstacles and rewards of fitting a yoga practice into a busy lifestyle.

Having attended many workshops around the country and having witness first hand the unconditional love that emanated from the yoga communities which had evolved around the Ashtanga Yoga method, I felt strongly that the practice was unique among hatha yoga methods and should be promoted in this community.

With this in mind, I began leading classes in November of 2004 and remain committed to promoting a most authentic interpretation of the Ashtanga Yoga method as taught by Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India, out of respect for the lineage and cultural heritage of the practice as well as the intrinsic intelligence of the practice.

I am registered with the Yoga Alliance, qualifying through workshops and teacher training with senior Ashtanga Yoga Teachers, including Tim Miller, David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff, and Manju Jois.

In March of 2006, I had the great privilege of practicing with Guruji, when he visited San Francisco.

In addition to my Ashtanga training and experience, I studied Thai Yoga Massage with Lyrea Crawford at the Windemere Institute in Madison. My Thai Yoga Massage training and experience has helped me to develop a healing touch that carries over into my yoga classes.

In addition to being a student of asana practice, I have explored the philosophical basis of the practice, from Classical Samkhya and Patanjali's Sutras to the writings of Krishnamacharya and Jois, finding these studies to be both an enjoyable intellectual pursuit as well as great nutrition for my Buddhi.

During the last decade my practice has proven to be the most supportive influence in my life, and it has been most rewarding to see my students embrace and benefit from the practice.
